Frequently Asked Questions

Why does PTBE need an Annual Appeal?
We are a mission-driven congregation with an ambitious list of programs and services to provide to our members and to the greater community. Each year we expand and adjust our agenda in response to the demands of our population. As with nearly all synagogues, we have an Annual Campaign to bridge the gap between what the community wants and what we can otherwise afford. Without Chai Giving, beloved and much-needed programs would have to be scaled back or eliminated.

How will my gift be used?
Annual Appeal gifts go to our General Fund, which covers operating expenses such as staff salaries, program expenses, and subsidies for members who need assistance paying for education and program fees.

I already pledged to Bonim B’Yachad to rebuild our temple. Why should I give twice? Bonim B’Yachad is our once-in-a-generation opportunity to rebuild our spiritual home. Chai Giving is an annual program that supplements funds to serve the needs and enrich the lives of our community. It fills our spiritual home each year with Chai—Life!

How can I make my gift?
We accept checks, credit cards (Visa and Mastercard), and gifts of appreciated stocks. For all other questions about how to give, please contact Eric Stone at 650−341−7701 or estone@ptbe.org
