Wednesday, Mar. 27 All High School

Next session: All High School Wednesday, Mar. 27 6:30-8 p.m. (6 p.m. for those signed up for dinner). Dinner will be Round Table pizza and fruit. Let’s Talk Liberation: In preparation for Passover, we’ll begin a fun, crafty 2-part series on freedom and applying the themes of the Seder to 2019 living. Resident artist Maya Siegel will help lead our activities.

A special guest from the Jewish Federation will also be joining to get teen input on upcoming opportunities!

Save the Date: Confirmation Students and at least one parent - In preparation for the Confirmation Service, please join Rabbi Laura and the clergy for Shabbat services Friday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. Following services, Confirmation students and parents will enjoy dinner with Rabbi Laura in the Library. RSVP to Rabbi Laura.

Screening of the Documentary Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety - April 2, 7:30pm | Wornick Jewish Day School, 800 Foster City Blvd, Foster City | Adults Only

Wornick is delighted to host a special screening of the documentary Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety. The film by IndieFlix "explores anxiety, its causes, effects, and what we can do about it." Featuring swimmer Michael Phelps, the goal of the film is to raise awareness of anxiety through discussions and interviews with the eventual hope of showing young people that everyone experiences anxiety and we can feel safe to talk about it. This screening is for adults only. Free Admission. Advance registration required

Apply Now for Jewish Women's Archive's Rising Voices Fellowship - The Rising Voices Fellowship (RVF) is a national, ten-month program that brings together Jewish, female-identified teens in 10th-12th grades who have a passion for writing, demonstrated interest in social justice issues, and a strong interest in Judaism and feminism. Applicationscan be submitted now and are due by April 15, 2019. Calling all 8th-12th graders! - Join NFTY Central West Region for a weekend in the Redwoods at YMCA Camp Jones Gulch as we bring our Kehilah Kedosha together for the final event of the year. We will celebrate shabbat through laughter and music, say goodbye to our Seniors, welcome new members into our community from all grade levels, and have some seriously BIG FUN. Calling all WNP and Rishonim parents - We want YOUR voice in the community-wide listening campaign about Tikkun Olam at PTBE. Please sign up here for a special Wednesday or Sunday house party gathering, geared towards parents in our Ed programs, to share what matters most important to you about being a member of PTBE, and to hear from others!

CHANGE TO CAMPERSHIPS GRANT PROGRAM - Deadline Approaching! Camperships to support PTBE children and teens who wish to attend Jewish summer camps and Israel programs will no longer be "need based" but rather are offered to all PTBE families regardless of financial need. Grants come from a variety of sources in the temple. The application deadline is March 31. All submittals will be reviewed with responses/scholarship amounts to families by April 5, 2019. Yom HaShoah - On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, Congregation Beth Jacob will host a community-wide commemoration featuring Special Guest Speaker Lily Robinson, who will share the story of how she and her family survived the Holocaust in Bulgaria. Reading of Martyrs' Names will begin at 6:30 p.m., with a Service of Remembrance at 7:00 p.m.followed by a dessert reception. Services will be held at Congregation Beth Jacob, 1550 Alameda de las Pulgas, Redwood City. For more information, transportation assistance, and to submit names for the list of martyrs or of recently deceased survivors, email the planning committee.

Host Families Needed for Teens - Local host families are needed for teens coming in July from Cyprus (Christian Greek Cypriots and Turkish Muslim Cypriots) and from Israel/Palestine (Christian, Jewish and Muslim teens in partnership with Jerusalem Peacebuilders). The teens are placed in pairs in host families - one teen from each side of the conflict. The teens are trained in peacebuilding, leadership, and communication skills.

Did you know that you can go to Israel this summer FOR FREE with other Bay Area people? There are only 4 trips this summer leaving from SFO, and we’d love for you to join one of them.
