JYCA Informational Session: December 9, 3-5 pm - Do you know a teen who wants to immerse for a year in a tight-knit community of like-minded youth exploring the connections between Judaism and activism? Consider Jewish Youth for Community Action (JYCA), a youth-led social justice and leadership development program for high school-aged Jewish activists.

This January, JYCA will launch a cohort on the North Peninsula for the first time! In JYCA, youth meet twice monthly in a five month long leadership training program as part of a cohort. This includes workshops on social justice issues led by previously trained JYCA youth, two weekend-long Shabbaton retreats, and various political actions. Youth build strong, lasting friendships with one another and learn skills to help them make positive impacts in their communities.

To learn more, youth are invited to a Youth-led Info Session

December 9th, 3-5pm

Peninsula JCC, 800 Foster City Blvd, Foster City

Contact Austin Weisgrau at jyca.austin@gmail.com for more information about JYCA and on how to join! See this flyer.

Tzedakah - In all of our education programs, we ask our students and families to participate in Tzedakah. This year, as a school, we voted and determined our Tzedakah will go to Larkin Street Youth Services. This important organization helps to empower young people to move beyond homelessness - and is San Francisco's largest nonprofit provider for young people experiencing homelessness. Please talk to your student about the importance of Tzedakah, send them with Tzedakah to contribute if possible (no matter the amount), and ask questions about what we're doing in your student's Ed Program to continue to teach them more about this important organization throughout the year.
