Tashlich on the Water!

Ryder Park, San Mateo

BYO Picnic beginning at 5:30 p.m.

*Services at 6:30 p.m.

Tashlich, meaning to cast away, is a time for us to symbolically free ourselves of our negative actions and feelings from the past year by casting them into a body of water. Experience the emotional and symbolic casting away of our sins as we prepare to start the new year with a clean slate. This ritual will be a part of Erev Shabbat Services.

Congregants are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy before services. We’ll meet in Ryder Park at the Starfish picnic area—you can sit at a table OR bring a blanket for the lawn. After dinner, we’ll walk together down the path to the water, where services will be held.

*Please Note: The PTBE Yarzheit list will not be read aloud at this service. Feel free to join in at services to share a name aloud or contact the office if you would like your loved one’s name to be read the week before or after.
